Meet Dr. Derek C. Powers

Meet Derek C. Powers, DDS, MS

Dr. Powers grew up in Lufkin, Texas and graduated with honors from Stephen F. Austin State University where he received a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree with honors from Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, Texas in 2000. In addition he was elected into the Baylor Odontological Honor Society and Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society. After dental school, Dr. Powers completed a residency in orthodontics at the University of Texas Health Science Center-Houston, where he received a Certificate in Orthodontics in 2002.

Dr. Powers is a member of the American Association of Orthodontist sand the Southwest Society of Orthodontists.

His goal is to provide the best possible orthodontic care in a comfortable environment. In addition to straightening teeth, Dr. Powers loves getting to know his patients.

Outside of the office, Dr. Powers enjoys a number of hobbies including fishing, sports and woodworking. However, the thing he enjoys most is spending time with his wife and two daughters.
